Linda Goehre is an established commercial and fine artist whose fine art has sold from the midwest to the east coast. For the past six years, she has developed and founded The Painting My Memories program for people with dementia and Alzheimer's Disease.
In the program, she finds a common ground and connects to people in all stages of dementia, even those in the most advanced stages. She assists them to communicate through painting, bringing forth emotions and feelings they may no longer be able to verbalize.
The residents aren't the only ones who benefit from the process. Linda gains artistic insight from her program participants, and shares with others her appreciation for the human potential that is hidden from us by the effects of dementia.
She is honored and proud to bring forth and shine a spotlight on these talented artists.
